What is VoIP?
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is using your broadband internet connection
to make phone calls. In other words, VoIP can send voice over the Internet,
rather than through the regular telephone network.
As such, VoIP bypasses call charges associated with the Public Switched
Telephone Network (PSTN).

An account with a
VoIP service provider (http://www.a-talk.com.au)
which will allow you to call landlines (local and interstate), mobiles and
international numbers
How
Much Does it Cost?
A-Talk rates and features are as follows:
Remember
- Calls between a-Talk users are free.
- When calling a mobile or standard analogue
phone, your phone number will be displayed as private or unknown
on phones with Caller ID.
- Always key in the area code, eg. 02 before
dialling the phone number.
- Do not use your VoIP phone to dial emergency
numbers as your location cannot be traced.
- VoIP does use up bandwidth, approximately
1MB per 10 minutes of conversation. Depending on the quality of
your internet connection if you are downloading and on the phone
simultaneously, sound quality may be affected, resulting in dropouts,
lag or garbled conversation. This will also be the case if your
internet connection is slowed as a result of exceeding your monthly
download quota.
- Keep your existing landline. A VoIP service
requires an internet connection and electricity. If either of
these services are down, you will be unable to make and receive
VoIP calls whereas the landline will still be functioning.

Custom
Built Computer Systems
| Quality computer parts: |
Only quality computer parts from well
known brands are used in construction of our PCs, which are built
to a high standard of quality and performance. Within each product
category, we have selected the best models available and do not supply
lower performance, or less reliable products. Quality components mean
fewer problems and less downtime for you or your business. |
| Fully Upgradeable: |
Our systems are not pre-built and sold
'off the shelf'. Each computer is meticulously hand assembled and
even the cabling inside the system is tied neatly out of the way.
You have the ability to upgrade or add single components to your system
as required. |
| Performance & Reliability: |
All our systems are hand
assembled which ensures peak performance and reliability. Windows
is manually installed, so if any problems are encountered during installation,
they can be corrected before your system is delivered. |
| System Testing: |
After your system is built, it is tested
continuously for a minimum of 24 hours. This insures fewer problems
for you. |
| Warranty: |
We personally handle the warranties on all of your
hardware components, so in the event of a breakdown, all you have
to do is contact us. In many cases, we are able to provide substitute
hardware while we wait for the replacement part.
|
| Support: |
If you ever need support, we help you
promptly and courteously. Some problems can be solved over the phone
and for those 'more challenging' problems, an on-site service is available.
We would like to be your complete computing solution, and this includes
helping you with your everyday computing questions. |
| Prices: |
Because we use high grade components,
our prices will not be the lowest. But on the other hand, you choose
what goes in your system and only pay for the items you need. Everyone
has different requirements - if you're not sure what you need, we
will take the time to advise and recommend a system to meet your needs.

Uninterruptible Power Supplies
(UPS)
The
effects of power problems include keyboard lockup, complete data loss,
hardware degradation, damaged motherboards, and more, making downtime
inevitable. A UPS instantly switches your computer to emergency battery
backup power and allows you to work through brief power outages or to
shut down your system in the event of an extended outage. High-performance
surge suppression protects your computer from electrical noise and damaging
power surges - even lightning.

Power/Modem Surge Protection
Reliable surge protection for home or office computers and electronic
equipment

| Lightning and Surge Protection |
To prevent damage to your equipment
from power surges and spikes. |
|
IEEE let-through ratings and regulatory agency compliance
|
APC surge protectors undergo stringent
testing by IEEE, and are awarded "let-through ratings",
which indicate the maximum voltage level that can possibly reach your
equipment after a surge or voltage spike has passed through a surge
protector. Lower IEEE let-through ratings indicate better protection
and performance. The APC Essential SurgeArrest series offers optimal
performance with a let-through rating of less than 330V for North
American products, and a rating of less than 15% for products sold
worldwide. All APC products comply with local agency safety requirements,
including UL in North America and CE/Kema/Gost/C-tick/A-Tick/Telepermit
in their respective regions. |
| Data-line Protection |
Protection of data lines (Ethernet,
Coaxial and Phone lines) ensures complete protection of your equipment
from surges. It is very important to protect your equipment from back
door surges traveling through data lines, as they can be as
damaging to your equipment as surges traveling over power lines. |
| Noise Filtering |
Surge Protector attenuates EMI/RFI line
noise that can cause data errors and keyboard lockups, ensuring better
performance of protected equipment. |
| Safety |
|
| Catastrophic Event Protection |
SurgeArrest components such as MOVs
and Thermal fuse ensure instantaneous reaction to lightning strikes
and wiring faults. If the surge components are damaged due to power
spike or over voltage, excess power cannot reach your equipment. Unlike
the APC SurgeArrest products, most surge suppressors continue to let
power through even after circuits have been damaged, leaving your
equipment exposed to other damaging surges. |
| Fail Safe Mode |
Most other surge suppressors continue
to let power through even after their circuits have been damaged,
leaving your equipment exposed to future surges. APCs SurgeArrest
fail safe, which means that once the circuit of an APC SurgeArrest
has been compromised the unit disconnects equipment from the power
supply ensuring that no damaging surges reach your equipment. |
| Overload Indicator |
Indicator illuminates when connected
equipment draws more power than units capacity. To remedy the
condition, unplug less vital equipment. |
| Convenience |
|
| Receptacle Shock Safety Shutters |
Shutters protect users from accidental
contact with unused outlets. |
| Phone Line Splitter |
Allows use of two pieces of equipment
at once, such as a modem and phone. |
| 180 degree Rotating Cord Retainer |
Offers flexibility in positioning the
SurgeArrest, and in routing the power cord. |
| Transformer Block Spacing |
Connect bulky transformer block plugs
without covering up other outlets. |
| Adjustable Cable Management |
Keeps cords and cables neat and organized. |
| Building wiring fault indicator |
If this indicator goes out, surge suppression
circuitry has been damaged by a heavy strike or power line surge.
|
| Protection Working Indicator |
If this indicator goes out, surge suppression
circuitry has been damaged by a heavy strike or power line surge. |
